On December 26, 2004, the world was forever changed by one of the most devastating natural disasters in modern history. A powerful earthquake off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia, unleashed a catastrophic tsunami that claimed the lives of 227,898 people across 14 countries and left millions more grieving, displaced, and rebuilding their lives.

We remember the men, women, and children who were taken too soon, and we honor the resilience of the survivors who faced unimaginable loss and hardship. Their memory lives on in the hearts of their loved ones and in the global efforts to create safer and more prepared communities.

May their souls rest in peace, and may their legacy inspire compassion, unity, and hope for a better future.
